Application

 

We encourage anyone interested in participating in one of the SCI-Step Recovery Programs to complete an application.

We would love to give everyone the opportunity to reach their recovery goals but due to the specialized care that some individuals may require, we have implemented the following program exclusions**:

bulletLess than 60 days post injury
bulletSevered spinal cord
bulletSignificant cognitive impairment
bulletSymptomatic fall in blood pressure greater than 30 mm Hg when upright
bulletHalo or other cervical device
bulletContraindication to weight bearing on lower extremities
bulletPressure sore in stage 2 or above
bulletUse of Colostomy bag (reviewed individually)
bulletMeets weight requirements for height (reviewed individually)
bulletA debilitation disease prior to the acute SCI that causes exercise intolerance
bulletPremorbid, ongoing major depression or psychosis
bulletRequired use of anti-spasticity medication (reviewed individually)
bulletInability to express the desire and focus needed to complete the program

  ** Please note that the above exclusions are used as a general guideline and may not disqualify you from participating in the SCI-Step Recovery Program. We will review each application individually.
